We are pleased to present Creative Commons’ 2025 Annual Report.
As we celebrate CC’s 25th anniversary this year, the impact of Creative Commons’ quarter century of work to make open sharing scalable and sustainable is clear. The commons as we know it today would not exist without the infrastructure and tools built by CC.
CC’s work in 2025 is a testament to the importance of sustaining the CC licenses while building for the future. We publicly kicked off CC signals and began to implement community feedback to evolve and expand our approach; launched the Open Heritage Statement, which more than 90 institutions have signed; worked with some of the world’s largest climate data organizations to implement recommendations for better sharing of climate data; continued to offer the CC Certificate program to build capacity with our communities; and more!
We invite you to learn more about CC’s work in 2025, and extend a huge thank you to the foundations, companies, and individuals that helped make this all possible!
